A Stratasys Case Study
Solidify Technology Sdn Bhd is a Malaysia-based one‑stop service provider that needed faster, lower‑cost ways to handle concept modeling, prototyping and low‑volume production for clients in automotive, appliances, architecture and industrial machinery. To minimize turnaround time and meet tight orders and small-batch needs, the company invested in Stratasys 3D printing systems, including the Fortus platform, to produce masters, jigs, tools and end‑use parts.
Using Stratasys Fortus FDM systems and materials (notably FDM Nylon 12), Solidify 3D printed master parts that fed into silicone molding, soft tooling and injection molding, enabling rapid delivery and lower costs. Results included completing a 1,000‑piece automotive spare‑parts run at one‑quarter the cost of the original supplier, producing chassis parts for up to 10 double‑decker buses per week that pass rigorous functional tests, cutting jig lead times from a week to 1–2 days, and meeting a Navy two‑week delivery — outcomes Solidify attributes to Stratasys’ systems and larger Fortus build tray.
