3D Printing Empowers Students to Design Innovate Vehicles

DSK International Campus (DSKIC) in Pune, India needed to give design students hands-on access to industry-standard prototyping tools so abstract concepts could be turned into functional models for applied research, industry projects and international competitions. To meet that challenge, DSKIC integrated Stratasys 3D printing into its curriculum, using Stratasys printers and ABSplus™ thermoplastic to teach industrial CAD, rapid prototyping and advanced design techniques.

Stratasys’ 3D printing solution enabled rapid iteration and functional testing—students printed all parts of complex projects like the Gecko two‑in‑one vehicle (including headlights and taillights) and delicate models such as an X‑car, producing strong, durable parts with much shorter lead times. The Stratasys technology saved time and resources, made prototyping more cost‑effective and efficient, and is now used across departments to prepare students for industry work and international design competitions.
