Case Study: Global Automotive Manufacturer achieves up to 72% faster 3D printing and lower cost-per-part with Stratasys F3300

A Stratasys Case Study

Preview of the Global Automotive Manufacturer Case Study

Automotive Tooling – F3300 Production System

Global Automotive Manufacturer, a global OEM building gas, electric and commercial vehicles, was using FDM® technology for product development and tooling but found legacy FDM printers too slow to meet rising production demands. To accelerate additive production, the OEM turned to Stratasys and its F3300® FDM production system.

Stratasys implemented the F3300—featuring a redesigned hot-end with wider extrusion paths, custom toolpath capability and auto-calibration—cutting print times dramatically (from 46.5 hours on an F770 to as little as 13 hours using F3300 custom toolpaths, up to 72% faster). The result: higher throughput and lower cost-per-part, stronger parts with fewer voids, reduced labor from auto-calibration, and the F3300 becoming the OEM’s flagship 3D printer.
