How a state government institution secured its ‘impossible to modernize’ HR application

Strata Identity helped a state government institution modernize access to a critical HR application that was using a legacy, unsupported identity provider and could not be updated without breaking. The team needed to move the app to a cloud-based IDP and add multi-factor authentication to better protect sensitive PII, after an eight-month attempted modernization effort with another solution had stalled.

Using Strata Identity’s Maverics Identity Orchestration, the customer placed an orchestrator in front of the legacy app and secured it without rewriting code or disrupting users. Strata Identity completed the first modernization in four working sessions, enabled the retirement of the legacy IDP, gave the IAM team more control over app modernization, and helped the agency extend the approach to other mission-critical apps with stronger, more flexible identity security.
