Misericordia University, a private Catholic liberal arts institution serving about 2,236 students, faced an inefficient, spreadsheet-driven budgeting process that required manual data entry and up to two months of compilation before budget committees could meet. Seeking a modern budgeting, enterprise planning, and reporting solution, the University selected Strata Decision Technology and its Axiom Higher Education Suite to replace manual workflows and support roughly 100 distributed budget managers.

Strata Decision Technology implemented the Axiom Budgeting and Forecasting module (part of the Axiom Higher Education Suite), going live at the end of 2020; the solution automated data compilation, shortened the University’s budget cycle (eliminating the prior two-month consolidation delay), and gave department managers self-service budget-to-actual reporting. Misericordia is now in its third budget cycle with Axiom, plans to roll out the tuition and forecasting modules, and continues to identify structural account changes to further increase automation.
