A STQRY Case Study
The United States Forest Service (USFS) faced a challenge in modernizing its visitor engagement and safety communication across its vast network of national forests and grasslands. Its reliance on static, physical signs was insufficient for providing dynamic information, guided tours, and critical safety alerts, and budgetary constraints made developing an in-house technological solution difficult. The agency selected STQRY to provide a powerful and easy-to-use app building platform to overcome these obstacles.
STQRY created the National Forests and Grasslands Explorer app, a dynamic portal that allows individual forest sites to control their own content. The solution featured vital functionality like offline mapping, safety alerts, and push notifications. This resulted in over 12,000 new users and 100,000 pageviews within the first seven months of 2020, with internal staff praising the platform's ease of use. STQRY's app helped the USFS enhance visitor safety, education, and accessibility, advancing its conservation mission.
