LTD Financial Services, a Houston-based financial services firm with over 750 employees, needed a more secure, centralized backup and disaster recovery solution to protect client data and support its pursuit of SAS 70 certification. With customers auditing controls and touring its data center, LTD wanted to eliminate disparate server backups, reduce tape handling, and ensure fast, reliable restores.

LTD deployed STORServer’s disk-to-disk Enterprise Backup Appliance (EBA), a policy-driven, platform-neutral solution that centralized backups, automated offsite tape creation for DR, and provided a cache and online storage pool to hold recent changes and full data copies. The appliance cut tape management to only offsite needs, sped file restores, reduced administrator time to about 30 minutes per day, was quick to implement, and scaled easily—helping LTD meet certification goals and support growth and new client acquisition.
