SiteGround, a leading web hosting provider, faced the challenge of adding cost‑effective shared storage with high redundancy while dramatically improving IOPS and throughput across its infrastructure. To meet these needs they turned to StorPool and its distributed shared storage (StorPool SDS) to replace slower solutions and enable live scaling and migrations without service impact.

StorPool implemented an all‑flash, distributed shared storage solution with smart caching, three‑level replication and the ability to attach or move volumes between servers in seconds, enabling live migrations and high availability. As a result SiteGround removed IOPS bottlenecks and achieved performance gains of 100x+ in many cases, doubled server utilization, reduced the number of physical servers, saved a couple hundred thousand dollars, and now conducts maintenance and migrations with no customer downtime thanks to StorPool.
