GroupOne, a US managed service provider serving financial, healthcare and other sectors, faced poor price/performance from legacy iSCSI SANs and a Tegile hybrid solution and needed a scalable, low‑CAPEX alternative. They selected StorPool (StorPool SSD-hybrid) to replace their SANs and integrate with their OnApp cloud stack to meet growing customer demands and simplify storage operations.

StorPool deployed its SSD‑hybrid distributed storage across two independent data centers (running on Dell and SuperMicro servers with Linux/KVM and OnApp), delivering measurable gains: ~4× higher performance versus the previous hybrid, 200,000+ IOPS, 0.2–0.25 ms latency, and a reported 5× lower total cost of ownership. The StorPool solution reduced engineering and support effort, lowered upfront hardware costs, improved margins for GroupOne and will be rolled out as their standard “gold standard” cloud building block.
