eApps Hosting, a cloud and web hosting provider serving thousands of customers worldwide, faced performance and overhead problems with a traditional redundant SAN that used non‑SSD hardware and commercial SAN software. Seeking a fast, reliable and affordable shared storage solution, eApps selected StorPool and deployed StorPool Storage (an SSD‑based distributed/shared storage system) after extensive testing.

StorPool implemented an all‑flash, SSD shared storage cluster that delivered substantially higher performance, resilience and easier management; eApps reports up to a 100% increase in storage speed, with measured results of 616,948 IOPS random read, 312,630 IOPS random r/w (50/50), 229,018 IOPS random write, 5,011 MB/s sequential read, 2,725 MB/s sequential write and latency of 0.19–0.26 ms up to 125,000 IOPS.
