Vissim and StormGeo partner to provide weather and vessel management to Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm

Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm, a joint venture between SSE Renewables and Total currently under construction in the Scottish North Sea, faced the challenge of safely managing vessels and operations in a dynamic offshore environment. StormGeo, a global supplier of weather forecast services, was engaged to provide live metocean forecasting, weather APIs and integration with Vissim’s vessel-management tools to support construction and ongoing operations.

StormGeo ingests live on-site measurements from Vissim’s wave devices, generates live forecasts, and feeds them into Vissim’s Next Generation operational overview and StormGeo’s metocean portal. This integration gives Seagreen consistent, real-time decision support and clear, actionable weather data for vessel planning and operation, while StormGeo’s generic APIs make the solution reusable across other tools and projects.
