TV4, the Swedish free-to-air television network, wanted to give viewers clearer, more relevant updates on electricity prices as part of its morning weather coverage. To do that, TV4 added StormGeo’s power price prognoses to its existing media services subscription, combining energy market information with the weather forecasts already used on air.
StormGeo delivered power price prognoses for all four Swedish price areas, supplied by its analysts in Oslo, and integrated them with TV4’s weather data. The result was a successful crossover between media and energy services that made electricity price developments easier for the public to understand, and TV4 said the combined segment became the most popular part of its morning talk show.
