StorMagic SvSAN’s real-time failover capability helps keep personal hygiene manufacturer Ontex’s production lines running 24x7

Ontex, a global manufacturer of disposable personal hygiene products, faced a critical availability challenge at its Eeklo, Belgium site where up to 24 automated production lines run 24x7. With a single IT support resource being called out whenever a system component failed, Ontex needed low‑cost, easy‑to‑set‑up virtualized storage with real‑time failover—so they turned to StorMagic and its SvSAN solution.

StorMagic deployed SvSAN on two Dell servers in a stretched cluster across the site, integrated with VMware vSphere 6.0 and using synchronous mirroring to replicate data between buildings. The StorMagic SvSAN implementation now protects 20+ virtual machines (including SCADA, manufacturing and back‑office systems), delivers seamless real‑time failover to keep production running 24x7, eliminates the need for physical SANs, and reduced CAPEX/OPEX by consolidating storage and compute onto two resilient servers.
