PraxisIFM Eliminates Failures and Data Loss with SvSAN Active-Active Storage Cluster

PraxisIFM, an independent financial services group operating in Guernsey and Jersey, needed to replace an aging HPE Modular Smart Array SAN and move away from asynchronous replication as the business rapidly expanded. To achieve higher resilience, synchronous protection and better performance across multiple sites, PraxisIFM engaged Alternative Solutions and selected StorMagic’s SvSAN as the replacement storage platform.

Alternative Solutions deployed a two-node StorMagic SvSAN stretch (active‑active) cluster with nodes in datacentres ~30 miles apart, providing synchronous mirroring, predictive SSD caching and high availability for 16 HPE ProLiant servers hosting ~200 Hyper‑V VMs and Citrix services for ~600 users. StorMagic’s SvSAN cut storage cost (about 50% vs traditional SAN), improved performance and eliminated single-site downtime risk—delivering continuous 24x7 availability, reduced support needs and measurable capacity to serve PraxisIFM’s multi-jurisdiction user base.
