Case Study: The Maho Group achieves five years of zero unplanned downtime with StorMagic SvSAN

A StorMagic Case Study

Preview of the The Maho Group Case Study

Leading Caribbean leisure and resort firm The Maho Group celebrate five years with no unplanned downtime thanks to StorMagic SvSAN

The Maho Group, a leading leisure, real estate, gaming and resort company based in Sint Maarten, faced frequent power outages across 25–30 buildings that threatened critical hotel, casino and property-management operations. Seeking to virtualize servers without the cost of external SANs, The Maho Group evaluated virtual SAN options and selected StorMagic’s SvSAN to deliver shared storage, high availability and redundancy on a tight budget.

StorMagic deployed SvSAN as a stretched cluster across two buildings in 2012 to protect property management systems, casino systems, firewalls, remote desktop services and other core applications. Since deployment The Maho Group has experienced zero unplanned downtime for five years—even through multiple full-site power outages—while avoiding the expense of external SANs, simplifying maintenance (no scheduled application downtime) and benefiting from StorMagic’s responsive support.
