First Enterprise Bank meets disaster recovery objectives and budgets with StorMagic SvSAN

First Enterprise Bank, a four-branch community bank in Oklahoma City, faced aging infrastructure, slow tape-based backups, and a disaster recovery (DR) solution that didn’t support VMware vMotion or automated failover. To meet strict regulatory DR testing and protect sensitive financial data affordably, the bank selected StorMagic and its SvSAN software to replace the manual, one-way replication setup they had been using.

StorMagic deployed a dual-way stretched cluster (two SvSAN servers per site with a hot-spare) that runs all back-office applications and enables automatic VM failover via VMware vMotion. The solution let First Enterprise Bank repurpose four existing servers instead of buying six, reduced network requirements to 300Mb, cut software costs by 87% versus the competing vSAN option, and shortened the DR procedure from five pages to two while meeting DR objectives and regulatory requirements.
