CKS Systeme Slashes Administration Time and Solution Costs, Improves Uptime with SvSAN

CKS Systeme, a Germany-based IT software and security solutions subsidiary of Tyco Integrated Fire & Security, needed to modernize the integrated server, virtualization, storage and backup stacks it ships to critical dispatch and control centers. After evaluating options to replace physical SANs, CKS Systeme selected StorMagic’s SvSAN (deployed on HPE servers with VMware vSphere and Veeam for protection) to deliver a simpler, lower-cost virtual SAN for its customers.

StorMagic implemented SvSAN as two-node stretch clusters on HPE servers (SvSAN 12TB Gold) managed via vCenter (StorMagic plug-in) and the StorMagic Web GUI, with Veeam running as a VM for backups. The deployment reduced hardware costs and administration time, added redundancy for critical dispatch applications, and has virtually eliminated downtime during updates and maintenance—delivering higher availability and lower total solution costs for CKS Systeme and its customers.
