CITA deploys SvSAN metro cluster to achieve high availability at half the cost of their previous solution

CITA, the traffic control division of Luxembourg Roads & Bridges, needed a simpler, more reliable way to manage mission‑critical traffic, weather, IoT and video surveillance data from over 600 cameras after struggling with two EMC VNX 5300 arrays in an active/passive configuration and VMware SRM. Frustrated by frequent reconfigurations, performance problems and heavy IT overhead, CITA — advised by Telkea ICT — selected StorMagic’s SvSAN metro cluster as the replacement active/active solution.

StorMagic deployed SvSAN across Dell and HPE servers stretched between two sites to provide mirrored storage with automatic failover, iSCSI access for compute nodes, and Veeam backups (deduped) to a third datacenter on Synology. The new StorMagic environment supports all traffic management and surveillance applications while cutting hardware costs by 50% and reducing management effort by tenfold, delivering the high availability and scalability CITA required to avoid tunnel closures and streamline operations.
