Cisco cybersecurity solution eliminates external storage and achieves over 99% uptime with StorMagic SvSAN

Cisco’s Secure Ops is a managed cybersecurity solution for OT networks that moved from a datacenter-centric architecture to a client-side compute model, creating a need for cost-effective, high-performance, highly available, and rack-dense local storage. To meet those requirements Cisco evaluated options and selected StorMagic’s SvSAN virtual storage to virtualize internal server disks and avoid external storage arrays.

StorMagic implemented SvSAN on clusters of Cisco UCS C220/C240 servers running VMware, mirroring data between servers for local HA and enabling remote deployment and management even over low-bandwidth satellite links. The StorMagic solution eliminated external arrays, reduced capital expenditures by more than 40%, and improved uptime from 96% to over 99%, delivering the required performance, density, and reliability for Secure Ops.
