Bloemsec Eliminates Single Points of Failure, Increases Uptime with StorMagic SvSAN

Bloemsec, a South African security services company, was running standalone, non-shared storage in its datacenter that created single points of failure, required manual failovers and caused downtime for mission‑critical video surveillance and management systems. After consulting with Drive Control Corporation and First Technology, Bloemsec selected StorMagic and its SvSAN virtual SAN to add high availability and continuous access in a Microsoft Hyper‑V virtualized environment.

StorMagic deployed SvSAN as a two‑node hyperconverged solution on a Hyper‑V failover cluster, streamlining Bloemsec’s infrastructure onto two Dell R540 servers and reducing hardware and costs. The StorMagic SvSAN implementation removed single points of failure and has greatly increased uptime and continuous access to surveillance footage, while backups are handled to the cloud via Acronis—delivering measurable improvements in availability and reduced infrastructure spend.
