Case Study: Department of Public Expenditure and Reform achieves digital service efficiencies with Storm Technology

Delivering an Innovative Digital Service to the Irish Government.

The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (DPER), through its Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), needed a more efficient, shared way to digitalize common corporate processes across Irish Government departments. Working with Storm Technology, the team set out to support the “build to share” strategy using Microsoft SharePoint-based applications.

Storm Technology helped DPER design and implement three centralized solutions: e-Docs for document and records management, e-Submissions for internal submissions, and e-Parliamentary Questions for handling parliamentary questions. The result was a standardized, more efficient, and better-governed digital process across departments, improving search, tracking, auditability, transparency, and resource use while reducing duplication and supporting wider government reform goals.
