PixelExperience, the team behind an aftermarket Android Open Source Project (AOSP) ROM, needed a better way to distribute its monthly software builds. With 60 ROM builds per release, each up to 1.5 GB and downloaded about 50,000 times, the customer was running into bandwidth shortages and slowdowns near the end of each month. Storj DCS was the vendor used to address these software distribution challenges.

PixelExperience implemented Storj DCS to automatically distribute its ROM builds across a global network of Storage Nodes, reducing the burden of managing distribution itself. The result was scalable bandwidth, faster download speeds in regions like South America, Asia, Europe, and North America, and improved security and reliability for build delivery. PixelExperience also noted that Storj DCS helped eliminate the need to worry about bandwidth and simplified its distribution workflow.
