A StoreHippo Case Study
Amul, India's largest dairy cooperative and a major FMCG brand, faced the challenge of transitioning its massive traditional retail operation into a hyperlocal D2C disruptor. Their legacy ecommerce software lacked the flexibility, scalability, and customisation needed to manage a multi-store network, hyperlocal deliveries, and high order volumes across the country. To achieve this digital transformation, Amul partnered with the vendor StoreHippo for an enterprise-grade D2C ecommerce solution.
StoreHippo implemented a custom-built, multi-store ecosystem powered by its MACH architecture. The solution included a network of 80+ location-based sub-stores, an AI-driven system for automated inventory sync and nearest-branch order assignment, and one-click fulfillment processing. This enabled Amul to expand its service from 10 to over 15,000 PIN codes. The results were significant, with Amul achieving a 24X growth in online orders and vastly improved operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
