BrickStreet Insurance, West Virginia’s first private workers’ compensation carrier, needed a way to expand into multiple states while replacing its legacy policy and claims systems. The company wanted a flexible, uniform platform that could support changing rate structures, long-term maintenance, and growth across states, and it evaluated options before selecting StoneRiver’s PowerSuite Enterprise.

StoneRiver implemented PowerSuite Enterprise for policy administration and claims management, with data warehousing, using a parallel rollout approach to keep expansion on track. The first release went live in October 2009 for quoting in Kentucky and Virginia, and the solution now supports over 200 internal users and about 2,000 external users through the agent portal. BrickStreet has continued expanding with StoneRiver’s support, and the system has enabled faster state launches, better configurability, improved maintainability, and reduced rework during implementation.
