United Fire Group Enabling Self-Service Automation that's Agile and Secure (Video Demonstration)

United Fire Group (UFG), a multibillion-dollar insurance company based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, needed a centralized automation platform to manage its increasingly complex hybrid IT environment. The team wanted to consolidate multiple scheduling tools, control jobs and workflows across platforms, and provide secure automation-as-a-service to users beyond the central IT group. Stonebranch’s Universal Automation Center (UAC) was selected to support these needs across Windows, mainframe, and other environments.

Stonebranch implemented Universal Automation Center with Universal Controller, Universal Agent, and Universal Data Mover to centralize workload automation, enable self-service automation, and support DevOps promotion across dev, test, and production. The solution helped UFG broaden automation access to business teams such as DevOps, data, operations, HR, and digital users while maintaining strict security and access controls across internal and third-party systems. The case study highlights improved agility, security, and functionality, though it does not provide specific numerical performance metrics.
