LVM Insurance Centralizes Java Batch Scheduling with Stonebranch Solution

LVM, one of Germany’s largest insurance companies, needed to schedule new Java batch jobs running in a WebSphere XD environment on AIX but could not integrate those jobs into its existing z/OS job-scheduling system. Facing the prospect of running two separate schedulers—adding cost, complexity and losing end-to-end visibility—LVM engaged Stonebranch to find a way to centralize scheduling.

Stonebranch developed the Universal Agent to integrate WebSphere XD into LVM’s existing workload automation, enabling LVM to manage new Java batch applications with its current people, processes and tools. The Stonebranch solution delivered measurable benefits: reduced risk and effort, end-to-end visibility, centralized archiving of job and application logs (retained up to ten years) to meet strict audit and compliance mandates, and avoided hiring or purchasing additional management tools—demonstrating a clear Return on Automation.
