KMD, one of Denmark’s largest IT service and software providers, faced rising license costs and operational complexity from a heterogeneous IBM agent landscape that supported 26,000 distributed batch jobs. To improve visibility, simplify usage and boost efficiency—replacing Fault Tolerant, SAP x‑agents and z‑centric IBM agents—KMD engaged Stonebranch and its Universal Agent solution.
Stonebranch implemented Universal Agent and converted all 26,000 jobs in about 2.5 months, consolidating the environment from 125 IBM agents to 80 Universal Agents and reducing jobs to 15,000. The Stonebranch deployment cut relevant jobs by 43%, reduced installed agents by 45 (a 36% reduction), delivered 12% faster processing, eliminated job failures, required no additional staff training, and simplified KMD’s distributed batch processing—producing clear cost and operational improvements.
