European Patent Office Integrates SAP Processes with Stonebranch Solutions

The European Patent Office (EPO) runs SAP-based financial and personnel processing (FIPS) across two mainframes, multiple platforms and a new server farm, but that environment was fragmented—multiple crontabs, custom FTP solutions and no centralized distributed workload support made SAP processing hard to integrate and maintain. To address this, EPO selected Stonebranch and its solutions, including Universal Data Mover, Universal Agent and the Universal Automation Center.

Stonebranch implemented managed file transfers, independent scheduling agents and a centralized automation layer to convert FIPS into an end-to-end workload. The Stonebranch solution delivered 100 percent operational transparency, increased TWS-managed workload control to 90 percent (up from 60 percent), reduced development time and cost, improved cross-platform interoperability, and simplified support—producing a strong return on automation.
