Building data infrastructure from scratch

PayFit is a Paris-based SaaS platform for payroll and HR with about 100–500 employees. When Pierre Corbel joined as the company’s first data hire, he was tasked with building the analytics infrastructure from scratch and integrating data from multiple sources to support business intelligence reporting.

PayFit implemented Stitch (based on the Singer spec) to load data into an Amazon Redshift warehouse and power Looker reports. After resolving GDPR and contract details with strong vendor communication, they configured integrations for Zendesk, HubSpot, and Jira—saving “hundreds of hours” of manual coding—scaling the data team to seven and establishing a repeatable analytics pipeline.
