WAGO, a global leader in connection and automation technology with around 8,600 employees and €1.19 billion in 2021 sales, had implemented Stibo Systems STEP but struggled to realize the platform’s potential: an MVP rollout left performance deficiencies, poor data structures and low user acceptance. Needing expertise to unlock STEP’s capabilities, WAGO engaged msg to assess and redesign the solution.

msg carried out a health check, re-engineered the data model and IT architecture (reducing asset types from 120 to 9), improved interfaces and workflows, and delivered a modern, intuitive web UI. The result is consolidated, transparent product data in a single interface, higher performance and user acceptance, reduced maintenance effort and faster time-to-market — with plans underway for automated translations into 22 languages and CO₂ footprint tracking.
