Saint-Gobain Distribution Bâtiment France, part of the global Saint-Gobain Group, is a multi-specialist distributor for the construction industry with 10 brands, 2,000+ suppliers, 2,000 outlets, 14 online stores and about three million products. Before 2015, the company struggled with low-quality product data, missing images and technical descriptions, complex supplier onboarding via email and legacy systems that couldn’t manage variants or ensure consistent information across channels.

To solve this, Saint-Gobain implemented a multidomain MDM on Stibo Systems’ STEP platform (now delivered as SaaS) with a supplier portal, automated workflows and integrations to 20+ systems including SAP and ecommerce. The result: faster supplier onboarding (imports that took 1–2 hours now take minutes), time-to-market reduced from ~2 weeks to 2 days, higher data quality and better customer experiences, plus improved operational efficiency and easier brand/data-domain expansion.
