bol.com, the Netherlands’ leading online retailer with 3.4 million active customers and a catalog spanning millions of products, faced the challenge of managing complex product data for more than 5.5 million items, ensuring real-time updates, and rolling out new categories quickly without jeopardizing sales. To solve this, bol.com chose Stibo Systems and its STEP master data management (MDM) platform to create a trusted, single source of product information.

Stibo Systems implemented STEP to integrate with bol.com’s IT landscape and streamline product information management, enabling near–real-time availability and shipping updates. The deployment reduced time to onboard and publish supplier content from two months to two weeks, increased fulfillment rates, lowered order cancellations, and boosted revenue, while allowing rapid rollouts of large categories (Books) and new ones (baby items). Stibo Systems continues to support bol.com’s PIM automation and data-model enhancements.
