automation machine manufacturer delivers 13 automated process lines in 7 weeks with Sterling Engineering

Sterling Engineering partnered with an automation machine manufacturer to help accelerate the mass production of vials for COVID-19 vaccines. The customer faced the challenge of designing and building a complex, patented automation process line under the highly compressed schedule of Operation Warp Speed, requiring a rapid prototype phase and subsequent value engineering for cost-effective production.

Sterling Engineering provided a team of project managers and design engineers who worked in two shifts to complete the design and detailing in under four weeks. Using SolidWorks 3D-CAD, the team verified system operation and fitment, enabling a safe and efficient layout. Following the successful design phase, Sterling Engineering expanded its support to include project management, purchasing, machine building, and assembly, which helped the client deliver 13 automated process lines to meet urgent market demand.
