SunGreen Systems, a Southern California commercial solar PV, energy storage and LED lighting firm, specializes in large solar-plus-storage projects such as parking-structure installations in Irvine. Facing utility-rate shifts that can decouple peak prices from peak solar production and reduce the value of standalone solar, SunGreen partnered with Stem to offer turnkey energy storage and utility bill optimization to better protect customer savings.

Stem delivered a turnkey energy storage solution — providing procurement, warehousing and end-to-end project support — enabling a Stem-powered solar + storage strategy that customers adopted more quickly. The solution shortened project payback by 6–12 months versus standalone solar, helped deliver about $645K in annual savings across projects (systems of 3.1 MWh, 440 kWh and 220 kWh, commercialized 2019–20), and increased SunGreen’s customer savings and revenues.
