New Era Electric Fulfills Customer’s Solar Plus Storage Needs with Stem’s Expertise

New Era Electric, a San Marcos, CA commercial and solar electrical contractor, was seeing rising customer demand across California to pair solar with battery storage but needed a distributor and energy storage solution provider to add storage to its projects. New Era Electric partnered with Stem (with Greentech Renewables distributing equipment) to access battery equipment and Stem’s Athena smart energy software to simplify solar-plus-storage deployments.

Stem supplied the battery hardware, Athena software, and deal support to streamline procurement and optimize system design, delivering a 250 kW / 496 kWh energy storage system that went operational in Q2 2022. By using Stem’s solutions, New Era Electric and its customers have optimized utility bills, reduced costly demand charges, protected the value of their solar investments against shifting rate structures, and accelerated time to value for solar-plus-storage projects.
