Preview of the Madison Energy Investments Case Study

Growing a solar portfolio with certainty, speed and trust

Madison Energy Investments (MEI), an asset manager, developer, EPC and operator based in Tysons Corner and New York, needed a standardized asset-management platform to scale rapidly, ensure accurate PPA billing despite utility revenue meters, and gain real-time visibility across distributed solar and storage projects. MEI adopted AlsoEnergy’s edge-to-cloud platform PowerTrack (now part of Stem) to provide the monitoring, data aggregation and analytics required to support its “Certainty. Speed. Trust.” approach.

Stem (through AlsoEnergy’s PowerTrack and edge solutions) implemented a full edge-to-cloud solution and commissioning support that MEI mandated across EPC partners, enabling faster bidding and commissioning, inverter-level diagnostics, fewer truck rolls and on-time monthly billing with 100% collections across hundreds of offtakers. The platform now powers MEI’s scale—about 160 operating assets (nearly 140 MW), 50+ deals per year and a pipeline of 35+ projects—improving uptime, cost certainty and readiness for growing solar-plus-storage deployments.
