Advent Achieves Development and Test Environment Automation in AWS with Stelligent

Advent Software, Inc., a software company serving investment management firms, needed to speed up the delivery of fully provisioned development and test environments. Manual, error-prone environment setup was causing delays of days or weeks, slowing feedback loops and extending development cycles. Stelligent helped Advent modernize this process using AWS services, including VPC, EC2, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and IAM.

Stelligent implemented a self-service, fully automated Continuous Delivery environment on AWS using Jenkins, Chef, Ruby, Cucumber, and PowerShell, with infrastructure defined as code. Developers could launch and deploy to environments with a single click, while automated checks verified configuration and security. The result was faster access to environments, stronger security through VPC and encryption, lower cost through elasticity, and a major reduction in turnaround time from a multi-week process to about an hour or two.
