Vesseo, a wallet app developed by a team at Sunship, Inc., was created to address the severe inflation Argentines face with their local currency. The challenge was to provide citizens with a safe and accessible way to protect their wealth from the rapid devaluation of the Argentine peso, which historically involved cumbersome processes to obtain and store physical US dollars. The vendor, Stellar, provided the network upon which the solution was built.

By building on the Stellar network, Vesseo gave users a fast, low-cost, and simple way to exchange pesos for USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. The solution leveraged Stellar's speed for near-instant transactions and its low fees, which Vesseo sponsors for its users. The result is that Argentines now have an accessible tool to preserve their wealth against inflation, and Vesseo plans to expand its services to new markets like Mexico using Stellar's growing ecosystem.
