GetPaid, a marketplace and community platform for digital professionals in Africa, faced the challenge of connecting its users with global companies due to difficulties in marketing and receiving payments. The Stellar Development Foundation, through its Stellar anchor platform, provided the technology to facilitate these cross-border connections and transactions.
The solution implemented by the Stellar Development Foundation enabled GetPaid to create a simple user experience on top of the Stellar network, allowing for fast, low-cost payments in multiple fiat and crypto currencies. This resulted in GetPaid attracting 7,500 applicants, vetting 1,250 digital professionals, and successfully executing 96 jobs, creating momentum for a self-sustaining community hub.
