Vanity Planet Increases ROAS by a Beautiful 33% with Facebook Video Ads

Vanity Planet, a beauty and skincare retailer, needed to boost online sales of its cosmetics line and determine whether video creative would outperform traditional static image ads on Facebook. They partnered with SteelHouse to test Facebook video retargeting and run an A/B comparison of video versus static ads across Facebook, Instagram and the Audience Network.

SteelHouse built custom audiences of qualified site visitors (ages 13–65+), optimized delivery for conversions, and tested six 10–25 second product-in-use video clips against static ads (which emphasized a 70% off sale). The SteelHouse campaign delivered a 3.7x higher CTR, ROAS up 33%, CPA down 33% and click CPA down 10% versus static creative — results Vanity Planet reported as some of its best retargeting returns in just 45 days.
