Sperry, the maker of the iconic American boat shoe, wanted to bring shoppers back to its site and increase online purchases by testing richer creative on Facebook. To do this, Sperry worked with SteelHouse to compare traditional static image ads against video creative using Facebook video retargeting and social placements.
SteelHouse targeted qualified site visitors with a custom Facebook audience across all placements (including Instagram and Audience Network), ran an A/B test of 15‑second lifestyle videos versus static ads, and optimized campaigns for conversions. The SteelHouse video campaign delivered a 6.5x higher CTR vs. static ads, cut click CPA by 55%, improved click ROAS by 267%, and saw 31% of users watch at least half the video, driving incremental, profitable sales.
