Large US City Public School System - Customer Case Study

A large US city public school system, with over 8,000 faculty and staff, faced significant security and compliance risks due to a neglected Active Directory environment containing over 30,000 stale user accounts. Their challenge was to clean up these accounts to meet CIPA and FERPA requirements and improve security. After a trial of ManageEngine proved insufficient for remediation, they turned to Stealthbits for a solution.

The school system implemented StealthAUDIT for Active Directory, specifically its Action Modules, which provided the ability to not only identify but also remediate problematic accounts. Using the Stealthbits solution, the security manager was able to immediately clean up stale and disabled accounts. The success with this product led to plans to adopt other Stealthbits offerings, including StealthAUDIT for Data Access Governance and StealthINTERCEPT, to further secure their environment and reduce the burden of compliance auditing.
