Case Study: Telford and Wrekin achieves enhanced lone-worker safety and 24/7 protection with StaySafe

A StaySafe Case Study

Preview of the Telford and Wrekin Case Study

Telford and Wrekin partner with StaySafe to ensure their staff are protected whilst working alone

Telford and Wrekin, a West Midlands local authority with lone workers across social care, caretaking, enforcement and fieldwork, partnered with StaySafe after a risk assessment showed many staff at risk while conducting home visits and working alone. Seeking an app-based, cross-platform solution with 24-hour external monitoring and better manager visibility, they trialled and implemented the StaySafe lone worker app in 2017, rolling it out to around 500 regular users.

StaySafe provided an easy-to-use app with one-touch check-ins, GPS location, man-down detection and panic alerts plus onboarding, guides and ongoing support; Telford and Wrekin also introduced a lone working procedure to standardise practice. The result was improved manager oversight, faster ability to send help to exact locations and a measurable adoption of about 500 users—staff report feeling much safer during high-risk visits and out-of-hours work after StaySafe was implemented.
