Case Study: SaskEnergy achieves improved lone-worker safety and faster response times with StaySafe

A StaySafe Case Study

Preview of the SaskEnergy Case Study

SaskEnergy Turn to Technology to Manage Safety of Front Line Operations Personnel

SaskEnergy, a Canadian natural gas transportation and storage company with a 14,000-kilometre pipeline network, needed a better way to protect operators who spend long periods travelling and working alone. Previously, front-line staff followed a manual check-in policy requiring frequent phone calls to supervisors; SaskEnergy chose the StaySafe solution (an app and monitoring service) to address the unpredictability and safety risks of lone working and remote travel.

StaySafe’s app and monitoring hub replaced time-consuming check-in calls with one-touch sessions, automated man‑down, session expiry and panic alerts, and GPS location reporting to monitors via SMS, email and on-screen notifications. As a result, StaySafe cut downtime from repeated phone checks, reduced unnecessary alerts, freed supervisors to focus on other tasks, and gave staff confidence that help can be dispatched even if an employee cannot reach their phone.
