Case Study: Coombes Forestry achieves faster emergency response and improved lone-worker safety with StaySafe

A StaySafe Case Study

Preview of the Coombes Case Study

Leading forestry contractor Coombes use the StaySafe app downloaded onto their smartphones to monitor employee safety via GPS and alerts

Coombes Forestry, a leading arboricultural contractor whose teams work at height and with potentially dangerous machinery for clients such as the Forestry Commission and Crown Estates, needed a reliable way to meet its duty of care and monitor lone workers. To solve this, Coombes deployed the StaySafe lone worker safety app (BS8484 accredited) on employees’ smartphones to provide real-time monitoring and alerting.

StaySafe’s solution—GPS tracking, regular check-ins and a critical non-movement alert—was quickly adopted by staff and now gives Coombes early warning if a worker is inactive. Those alerts allow Coombes to start welfare checks immediately, providing vital extra time to get help after an incident and delivering measurable improvements in response capability and peace of mind for both the employer and employees.
