Foothills Automation and Controls, a service and maintenance provider to Alberta’s oil and gas industry, faced the challenge of keeping lone and paired field technicians safe in hazardous environments where slips, fires, explosions and chemical exposure can be fatal. Their previous reliance on calls and texts left them unable to locate unreachable workers quickly, so Foothills turned to StaySafe’s lone worker safety solution featuring GPS tracking, check-ins and panic alerts.

StaySafe was implemented with configurable check-in intervals, a live hub to view all employee locations and missed-check-in/panic alerts. During trial the GPS accuracy met Foothills’ needs, and after rollout the company can now pinpoint technicians on large sites, meet Canadian work‑alone legislation and respond more quickly to incidents—giving Foothills greater confidence that they can locate and assist employees promptly.
