A StaySafe Case Study
Beams is a UK charity that supports disabled children, young people and their families across Kent; their Direct Payment Case Workers routinely visit unfamiliar homes and travel rural roads, exposing lone workers to environmental and people risks. To address the need for reliable check-ins and emergency alerts, Beams adopted StaySafe’s lone worker safety app and monitoring Hub to give staff session check-ins, discreet panic and duress options, and in-house monitoring.
StaySafe implemented session-based check-ins for entire work periods, quick panic alerts (including discreet and duress modes), and a shared StaySafe Hub so colleagues take turns monitoring responses. The solution delivered efficient, auditable check-ins for every visit, immediate alerting in volatile situations, and measurable improvements in staff confidence, team morale and bonding—feedback from Beams staff has been uniformly positive.
