The Blackburn Inn & Conference Center, a luxury boutique hotel, faced the challenge of maintaining its high level of service while emphasizing cleanliness and social distancing for guests concerned about health safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. To address this, the hotel partnered with vendor StayNTouch to implement a contactless mobile check-in system and digital key technology.
StayNTouch's solution involved an online mobile check-in system that contacted guests prior to arrival to confirm information and process payments. Guests then received a mobile key via email or text. This strategy, promoted through pre-check-in emails, led to an immediate increase in adoption; in the first weekend, StayNTouch's platform delivered 26 digital keys to 24 guests, who opened 40 doors, enabling a fully contactless stay that was both hygienic and convenient.
