How Tavour ships delight to craft beer aficionados

Tavour, the craft beer discovery app, wanted to reduce friction in its delivery sign-up flow by adding address autocomplete. Using Statsig feature gates to roll out the new feature to a small percentage of users, the team could measure whether this “no-brainer” change actually improved activation and conversion.

With Statsig, Tavour turned the rollout into an A/B test and uncovered an unexpected issue: users exposed to autocomplete were churning more often, especially on smaller phones where fewer suggestions were visible without scrolling. After revising the design to surface more autocomplete results without extra scrolling, Tavour saw new user activation increase by double-digit percentage points, and then continued the rollout with confidence.
