A Statsig Case Study
Ancestry, the global leader in family history, needed a better way to speed up experimentation and measure the long-term impact of product changes without relying on manual custom queries. Using Statsig’s experimentation and analytics platform, the team looked for a way to support launch darkly, feature flags, and cross-functional experimentation across engineering, product, and data science.
Statsig provided Ancestry with an end-to-end experimentation stack, including holdouts, segmentation, and analytics that removed manual number crunching and made it easier to evaluate results across the product ecosystem. As a result, Ancestry scaled from 70 to 600 experiments per year, expanded its Growth team from 4 to 25 people, and enabled 3.5 million customers to benefit from faster, more consistent experimentation.
